DAY 5 OF 21 DAYS FASTING & PRAYERS PROGRAM
Friday, 10th January, 2020

=====================
Topic: Waiting On The Lord.
By Rev. Ramson A. Darteh
======================
Reference:  Isaiah 40:31
‘But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.’

Waiting on the Lord entails fasting, prayers and meditation on the Word. Waiting,  in reality ‘detoxifies’  us of carnality, and makes the strength of God available to us. It is said that ‘one cannot be God full till he or she is self empty.’

In the reference text above, Prophet Isaiah compares  the process the eagle goes through  to the experience anyone who waits on the Lord undergoes.
It is speculated that an eagle lives an average of fifty years. During its mid life, it undergoes a crisis and starts loosing its strength. It consequently soars to the top of a very high mountain, and after finding a safe place; plucks off its feathers, beats its beak and claws out, and almost naked, waits patiently.

After some time, the feathers, beak & claws grows out again with renewed strength. It is then empowered to live out it’s full life cycle,

In much the same way, as believers, it gets to a point where we faint, get discouraged and literally feel ‘empty.’  Taking time off to wait on the Lord is synonymous to ‘shedding off’  our weaknesses, failures  and deficiencies, and receiving strength from God to enable us live an overcoming life.

It must be noted that one cannot renew what one does not have. We often renew expired passports and licenses. Much the same way as we wait on the Lord in fasting and prayers, we re-new our sagging strength, and consequently  ‘mount up with wings as eagles; .. run, and not be weary; and  .walk, and not faint.’  May that be our portion in the mighty name of Jesus! Shalom

*Right Word: By Rev. Ramson Asante Darteh* Thursday, 6thJune, 2019 *TOPIC: TAKING IT BY FORCE* *Reference*:Mathew 11:22 "...And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force..." Life, it must be understood, does not give you what you beg for, but rather what you fight for. George Foreman, the renown boxer, asserted that ‘champions are not made in the ring, they are only recognized.’ In Acts 12, we read the account of how Herod decided to deal ruthlessly with the Church. He initially cut off the head of James with the sword, and when he saw that it pleased the Jews ...he proceeded further to take Peter also...and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.’ Vs.3-4 When James was taken by Herod, the Church had hoped that God would intervene and save him. It never happened and he ended up dead. Lesson well learnt, they
